In the case of custom digital maps the term 'Specialised' most commonly refers to the content (or topic) of a map. Specialised map topics can include things like tour information, relief or topography, geological and mineral resources, climate, vegetation zones, and any numbers of other special interest topics.

Do Specialised Maps require specialised data?

Some do, some don't. It all depends on the topic. Most often you simply supply us with a list of what it is you need included and we then insert this information onto a custom made map using various methods such as icons, info boxes, and various other graphic elements. A 'map key' explaining what is what on the map is sometimes required.

Another example is the many software programs throughout various industries and fields (resource exploration, mining, construction, architecture, research etc) which produce very technical maps often unsuitable for public consumption. Converting technical maps and making them both web (or print) and user friendly is another obvious use for specialised maps.

	Our most detailed focus is on Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, and Europe, however, a Multi-Map Series can be supplied for just about any major region of the world including The America's, Australasia and the Far East.
